
Samantha Tinney 20 year old International three day event rider located in Ocala, Florida
After ending a brief career in youth soccer, Samantha discovered her love for horses and began riding at a local barn when she was 13 years old. In 2017, Samantha won the USEA Classic Series Training three day at the Colorado Horse park and was the youngest rider in her division at only 14.
Samantha found her way to Lauren Lamberts program in 2018 and has flourished, climbing up the levels quickly. In 2019, Samantha purchased lifetime partner Glenbrook Cooley, and just seven months after there partnership began, they competed at the 2019 North American Youth Championships CCI2*-L and placed 5th individually and 4th with the Area V team. In November 2019, Samantha was a recipient of a grant from the Mars Bromont Rising U25 program for the Ocala Jockey Club Three-Day International Event, where Samantha placed 28th overall and 7th Young rider in the CCI2*-L. With more than 75 starters in the division.
In 2020, Samantha set off to work for Karen and David O’Connor, where she resided for a year, learning the in’s and outs of breaking and starting young horses. Now Samantha has found herself in Leslie Law’s eventing program. Under two top professional coaches, and the close mentorship of Leslie and Lesley Law; Tinney hopes to climb up the ranks as well as continue to develop her string of horses.
Samantha’s greatest cheerleader and supporter is her dad, the former professional motocross racer and professional mountain biker Terry Tinney.
